ESD (PalmGear/Handango) vs developer store? The mobile economy has been growing steadily over the past few years, and one of the biggest movers in the market are the electronic sales distributors (ESD) sites that provide a sale point for many software titles over the Internet. You may be interested to know that:
Its a common myth that purchasing from an ESD site is the best way to get software from a developer; this is in fact a myth. Purchasing software from the developers own webstore or e-commerce system will always provide the developer with maximum revenue for their products. MobileWizardry encourages people to shop at the develoeprs webstores, custom built or pure e-commerce systems are just as reliable and only a maximum of 15% in commission for every sale.
Step-by-Step HOWTO
The central navigational point within Pocket Mini Golf - it allows you to start a game, (or resume if possible), see high scores and set various options specific to your game play. Althought it is possible to exit using the hard key associated on your handheld, devices with hires+ support (Tungsten|T3, UX50 et al) will require using the option provided on this screen.
Itching to get started? To start playing you need to select a number of options including which player you want to use, the difficultly mode, the game type and which course to play. Pocket Mini Golf and Pocket Mini Golf eXtra have a large number of game variants; and this is how you select them.
There are four players to choose from; in Pocket Mini Golf it is just an visual thing - but, in Pocket Mini Golf eXtra each player has different strengths and weaknesses - you will have to try them all! When playing the courses on Beginner setting you can set the power of each manually by using the buttons or the stylus. In Expert mode, the power bar moves left and right automatically and you must press make a shot at the right time in order to select the desired power. The normal mode uses standard golf rules. To progress to the next round need to complete all eighteen (18) courses on par. In arcade mode, you are playing against the clock - stroke count doesn't matter, but you must do it before the time runs out. Any remainding time gets carried over to the next hole. It is possible to practice any holes that you have successfully reached in either Normal or Arcade mode.
A number of options exist to allow you to configure the game to your best liking; the most common ones are volume control, control methods and graphics orientation (rotation of screen). Other options exist that you can experiment with to your liking. You can control Pocket Mini Golf and Pocket Mini Golf eXtra using the stylus (takes a little time to get used to) or, use the d-pad controls of the device (if available). Depending on the control method, you have different reactions to the d-pad. Taking a shot can be done by tapping on the player or using one of the action keys. In control method one, you push the d-pad in the direction you want the player to face; pushing up means the pointer will point up eventually. In control method two left/right/up/down will do a natural rotation either clockwise (right/down) or anti-clockwise (left/up) - the pointer will not stop moving until you release the keys.
Playing is simple - line up your shot, select your power level and hit the ball; it'll be a nice repetition after that. There are four on screen buttons provided (we recommend you dont disable these) which you can use while playing the game. If you need to see where the hole is, tapping the button with the flag will scroll the level so the hole is visible (allowing you to see a path). In some cases the player obstructs the view, using the button with the player allows you to see through your player, making them transparent. Rotating the viewpoint is also another essential factor of the game play - if you cannot see the path right, or something else is obstructing the view; change it. There are plenty of obstacles in the harder levels; and the perspective of the view may decieve you! The final icon allows you to cancel your putting line up - if you make a mistake in lining up the shot or decide you want to try another path.
Pocket Mini Golf eXtra boasts a secret feature - you can find secret stars in the levels to uncover secret levels. There are a total of eighteen (18) secret holes available - however, each player uncovers different stars in different courses. There are sixteen (16) in the normal levels and two (2) found in the secret course. To get the full set of stars; you need to play as each of the four players. Find your first secret star using Emily, on the Castle Steps as shown above. Momentumgames and Mobilewizardry request you keep the location of the secret stars as a secret - let people enjoy the challenge of finding the stars on their own.
